Abstract:

Ekbatan dam in Hamedan is located on Abshine river. The purpose of this dam is to supply potable and agriculture water for Hamedan. With respect to water quality importance of reservoirs the study aims to investigate eutrophication state of Ekbatan Dam Lake. In this research a dry season (summer) was chosen to study the quality of water behind the dam as temperature and light is received more by the environment.12 stations were selected in different points of Ekbatan Dam lake and sampling was accomplished. In this study pH, temperature secchi disk, nitrate, phosphate and chlorophyll-a were measured. Then using Calson Index the rate of eutrophication was estimated for all points. Also quality zonation was done using GIS.Carlson Index varies between 35.7 and 50.7 in different stations of the lake. Based on the estimated values of this Index, stations located at the entrance of the lake show more eutrophic situation. Also phosphorous is the limiting nutrient in this system. Results show that Carlson Index at station one which is near to dam body is lower in comparison with other points and it is recognized as oligotrophic. Station 11 which is located on the left branch of the lake input is eutrophic. This research showed that Ekbatan reservoir has the potential of eutrophication.

Abstract:

Marzanabad reservoir is located in Mazandaran province, south-western part of Babol. Its area is 183 hectares and its mean depth is 2.5 meters. This reservoir is rich in aquatic plants and has been a good habitat for migratory birds. The entrance of farmland wastewaters and pollutants are from the impacts leading to a loading of DIN and TP into this reservoir. This study was conducted in order to trophic status in this ecosystem for the first time during 1 year since September 2006 to August 2007. In this research, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, trophic state indicators including TP, Chla, Secchi depth and dissolved Nitrate concentration was studied based on the Carlson trophic state Index in 3 stations with 3 replicates monthly. According to TSI, Marzanabad reservoir is in eu-hypereutrophic condition.

Abstract:

Eutrophication or enrichment is an important issue in all aquatic ecosystems of the world and wetlands are one of the most sensitive habitats to this problem and assessing the trophic status of a wetland is the first step in the evaluation of its quality. The aim of this study was to investigate the water quality characteristics and trophy status of Aynak wetland in Rasht using the Carlson trophy Index. The area of this water zone is 36. 5 hectares and its water supply resources are rainfall, urban wastewater and Sefidrud river. This wetland is located in the west of Rasht city and consists of four different parts. To determine the physicochemical factors of water in each section, a station was selected and sampling was performed from autumn 1396 to summer 1397 seasonally for one year and the annual average of the factors showed 18. 3 ° C water temperature, 7. 21 pH, 2. 75 mg/L water soluble oxygen, 10. 9 mg/L BOD5, 24. 42 mg/L COD, 733. 25 mg/L TDS25, 21. 5 mg/L total nitrogen, 0. 062 mg/L chlorophyll-a, 0. 95 mg/L total phosphates and the depth of Secchi Disk visibility was 0. 35 meters. The average annual Carlson trophy Index of this wetland was determined based on the visual depth of Secchi disk 76. 78, total phosphates 99. 80 and chlorophyll-a 69. 74. According to the TSI Index, Aynak wetland is in the area of severe eutrophication and from a managerial point of view, it needs to take fundamental action to improve the trophy conditions.

Abstract:

Kanibarazan wetland is one of the most important satellite wetlands in the South of Lake Urmia, which due to biodiversity; it has been promoted as a wildlife refuge and Ramsar site. In this research, 15 stations were selected in the Kanibrazan wetland of Mahabad for sampling of water quality parameters in 4 seasons of 2015 and a systematic sampling was carried out. Additionally, 6 bed sediment samples were collected to determine the bioavailable phosphorous content of the wetland during the summer season. Water quality parameters in this study included: nitrogen, phosphorus, transparency, chlorophyll a, biological oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD) and bacterial load in the wetland determined by standard laboratory methods. The results for BOD and COD showed that in all seasons the values of these parameters were much higher than the standards. The results also showed that TSI (TNs) was high in the first and second seasons and the increase in TSI (TP) and TSI (SD) values in the autumn and winter seasons were compared to the previous seasons. The average bioavailable phosphorous content in sediment samples was 29. 4 mgkg-1 which indicates high risk of the phosphorous release from the bottom sediments to the overlying water and accelerating of the eutrophication process. In addition, the significant (r = 79, P < 0. 01) correlation between Colwell-P of sediments and single-cell algae indicated Colwell-P can be used as a bioavailable phosphorous indicator in Kanibrazan wetland. Finally, based on the trophy indices, it was observed that the conditions of the wetland in the spring, summer, autumn and winter seasons are located in the state of Mild Mesotrophic, Oligotrophic, Mesotrophic and Acute Mesotrophic, respectively, and it can be stated that the status of the wetland is passing to the nutritional stage, due to lack of water supply with quantity and quality, especially in summer. . .

Abstract:

Determination of trophic status is one of the methods for assessing ecological balance of wetland ecosystems, because sustainability and productivity based on these unique ecosystems require proper monitoring and control of their environmental conditions. Therefore, biological and ecological studies are necessary before any activity is established. Tanudar Wetland with an area of 1000 hectares is one of the largest wetlands of Lorestan Province, 10 km northwest of Dorood. In this study, physical and chemical characteristics of Tondar wetland sampling were used to evaluate the nutritional status of Carlson (TSI) based on total phosphate (TP), total nitrogen (TN) and phosphorus to nitrogen (PN) Sampling of Tanudar wetland was used in summer of 2019. The results showed that based on the Carlson Trophic Index (TSI), trophic wetland Tanudar level is in eutrophic conditions. wetland Tanudar to its location, natural conditions and hydrological conditions, the is mainly drained from the highlands of Silakhor plain and tira River Dorood, Therefore, any upstream loading such as orchard development, diversified recreational harvests in the river, increased levels of dark river water pollution caused by municipal, industrial wastewater, and point source pollution sources such as warm-water fish ponds have crossed the Tanudar wetland. And it wound deeper on the current unstable body. Therefore, in the current conditions, the quantitative and qualitative provision of the wetland ecological right of the wetland is one of the most obvious requirements and management issues of the wetland.

Abstract:

In this study, the trophic status of the Bustan dam reservoir was investigated using Palmer and Carlson indices. Biological parameters including phytoplankton and environmental factors such as phosphate, nitrate and chlorophyll were sampled at the depth of 0.5 meter in five stations in three replicates seasonally in 2019, repetitions and Then the Palmer and Carlson indices were determined. The Palmer Index in Bustan dam was estimated as 24, 31, 27.6, and 28.8in spring, summer, autumn, and winter, respectively. According to the Palmer Index classification, in all four seasons, Bustan dam water is in the category of water with high organic matter. The highest value of Palmer's Index was obtained in summer (31) and its lowest value was obtained in spring (24). The highest nutritional status of Carlson's Index was related to summer (60.46 eutrophication) and the lowest level was found inwinter (52.44 eutrophication), which indicates that the reservoir has moved to semi-nourishing condition in winter season. Also, the highest nutritionism status was observed in station 3 (54/23). According to Palmer's and Carlson's indices and the ratio of phosphate to total nitrogen, the main factor of nutritionism in the reservoir of Bustan dam was phosphorus compounds that enteres the reservoir from external sources of the dam and ultimately causes the decrease of water quality.
